Greetings friends,

I hope this finds you well.

Life isn’t always cozy. That’s being real.

This week, I received some very sad news. My ex-daughter-in-law just lost her life to issues related to mental illness.

Even tho she had the status of an ‘ex,’ and there were many relationship struggles, I find myself grieving and grieving the losses for many loved ones impacted by this. Grieving the loss of her young life.

I loved her, despite the hardship, despite the ‘ex’ status, despite everything.

She taught me about sacrificial love, which is always good yet hard to learn and not always fun. She gave me darling grandchildren, even though she couldn’t raise them. She loved holidays.

So, my emotions are in the grief process. Trying to make healthy choices in the midst of it and letting the tears flow when needed. Grief in life is normal and unavoidable.

On the upside, I had a beautiful Easter Sunday with those grandchildren taking them on a ferry ride in Puget Sound, on a day that couldn’t have had better weather. We had lunch and ice cream, lots of hugs and walking and it was healing for all. Very precious time I’ll always treasure.

Movie

I enjoy watching true-story movies. Here’s one I loved: Florence Foster Jenkins, starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. This is one not everyone will appreciate. I’ve watched it three times. I laugh so hard, yet there are so many life lessons and quandaries deep within this movie. I found her relationships fascinating. I have come to love this lady’s character and value what she gave in life.
